A front extending from the Southeast westward to the Southern Plains will become quasi-stationary through late Sunday night. The western end of the boundary will begin to return northward as a warm front on Monday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along the boundary from parts of the Southern Plains to the Southeast with rain developing over parts of the Ohio/Tennessee Valleys into the Southern Mid-Atlantic. The showers and thunderstorms will continue over the area through Sunday evening. Overnight Sunday, showers and thunderstorms will begin to lift northward into parts of the Central Plains/Middle Mississippi Valley through Monday evening. Also on Monday, showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead the associated front over the Southern Plains through Monday evening into Tuesday. The showers and thunderstorms will slowly wind down over the Southeast overnight Sunday into Monday. Meanwhile, a deep upper-level trough over the West Coast will slowly move eastward to the Northern High Plains to the Southwest by Monday evening. Snow will develop over parts of the Northern Plains into parts of the Northern Rockies on Sunday morning that will slowly move into parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley by Sunday evening and expand into parts of the Upper Great Lakes on Monday. The snow will also develop over parts of the Northern Rockies and parts of the Great Basin by Sunday evening that will move into the Central Rockies overnight Sunday into Monday evening. Early on Monday morning, rain will begin to develop over parts of the Central Plains that will expand into parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley and the Western Ohio Valley through Monday evening. Between the rain and snow, a band of rain/freezing rain will develop over parts of Middle/Upper Mississippi Valley on early Monday into Monday evening. In addition, coastal rain and higher elevation snow will develop over parts of Northern California on Sunday morning that will end by Sunday evening. By Sunday evening. coastal rain and higher elevation snow will move into the Pacific Northwest and continue into Monday evening.
