An upper level disturbance will slide across the central Plains into the middle Mississippi Valley this afternoon. With cold temperatures in place, this disturbance will give way to a narrow band of snow from western Nebraska to central Illinois. The heaviest accumulations are expected in northern Missouri into western Illinois which will end by this evening. Wubter weather advisories are in effect for these regions with central Nebraska under a winter storm warning. As this upper level disturbance continues its easterly trek toward the Mid-Atlantic, the narrow band of snow will follow. The central portions of the Ohio Valley can expect snowfall late Sunday night with heavier snow occurring in the central Appalachians. By Monday morning, snowfall will impact areas from the Mid-Atlantic to the Northeast. The heavier snowfall accumulations is expected in Pennsylvania into western New Jersey. A potent upper level low will move over the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies on Sunday. This will bring an increase in rain and higher elevation snow during the day--lasting into Monday. As the upper level low moves over the Intermountain West on Monday afternoon, the precipitation will spread across the northern and central Rockies into the northern Plains.
