Upper-level energy over the Lower Great Lakes/Northern Appalachians will move eastward off the Northeast Coast by Tuesday morning. Another area of upper-level energy will follow a similar path moving off the Northeast Coast by Wednesday morning. The energy will produce scattered rain and snow from parts of the Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley eastward to the Northern Mid-Atlantic that will diminish to a smaller area of rain and snow over parts of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic by Tuesday morning. The second area of upper-level energy will continue to produce mostly scattered snow over parts of the Lower Great Lakes eastward to the Northeast Coast on Tuesday evening moving off the Northeast Coast by Wednesday morning. Additionally, a front over the Southeast/Eastern Gulf Coast will slowly move southeastward off the southern tip of Florida by Wednesday morning. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the boundary mainly over Florida that will, likewise, move southeastward off the Southeast Florida Coast by Wednesday. Meanwhile, a deep upper-level trough off the West Coast will move slowly onshore with the associated upper-level energy moving eastward to the Northern/Central Rockies to Southern California by Wednesday. A plume of moisture off the West Coast will slowly move northward parallel to the coast overnight Monday, moving onshore on Tuesday morning. The plume of moisture will slowly move southward over California moving off the Southern Coast of California by Wednesday morning. Rain will start over the Pacific Northwest and Northern California Coast on Tuesday morning. As the rain moves farther inland on Tuesday, higher elevation snow will develop over the Olympic Peninsula and the Northern Cascades. By Tuesday evening the rain and higher elevation snow will move into parts of the Northern Rockies and by Wednesday morning into parts of the Northern Plains. In addition, rain will develop over parts of Central California on Tuesday afternoon ending by Wednesday morning. Furthermore, an area of upper-level energy will move southeastward out of Central Canada overnight Tuesday into parts of the Upper Great Lakes by Wednesday morning. The energy will aid in producing light rain and snow over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley on Tuesday afternoon moving into the Upper Great Lakes overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
