Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 359 AM EDT Wed Apr 25 2018 Valid 12Z Wed Apr 25 2018 - 12Z Fri Apr 27 2018 ...Heavy rain possible over the Maine Coast... ...Temperatures will be 10 to 20 degrees below average over parts of the Central/Southern Plains... A storm over the Mid-Atlantic will move northeastward the northern tip of Maine by Thursday evening. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms along the Mid-Atlantic Coast that will move northward to Southern New England Coast by Thursday morning. The system will also produce rain over parts of the Great Lakes into the Northeast and parts of the Central/Southern Appalachians into parts of the Mid-Atlantic on Wednesday morning. The rain ends over the Upper Great Lakes by Wednesday evening and over most of the Mid-Atlantic and the Central/Southern Appalachians overnight Wednesday. On Thursday, the rain will slowly end over Southern New England and slowly tapper off over Northern New England overnight Thursday. Meanwhile, upper-level energy over the Central Plains will move southeastward to the Southeast/Tennessee Valley by Thursday evening. The system will produce rain over parts of the Central/Southern Plains that will, likewise, move southeastward to the Southeast and Southern Ohio/Tennessee Valleys by Thursday evening. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and near the associated front over parts of the Southern Plains/Lower Rio Grande Valley moving to the Central Gulf Coast by Thursday morning and into parts of the Southeast by Thursday evening.
