A weak boundary extending from the Southern Mid-Atlantic into parts of the Southeast and the Lower Mississippi/Tennessee Valleys will be the focus for showers and thunderstorms through Thursday evening. There will be a slight diurnal component to the areal coverage with these storms. Showers and thunderstorms will also develop over parts of the Western Gulf Coast into parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley through Thursday evening, too. In addition, moisture and upper-level energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over the Central/Southern High Plains through Thursday when weak upper-level ridging will build over the region. Meanwhile, upper-level energy over the Great Basin/Northern Rockies will slowly move to the Northern Plains by Thursday evening. The energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern Rockies into the Upper Mississippi Valley that will slowly lift northward into parts of West-Central Canada by Thursday evening. Showers and thunderstorms will expand into parts of the Upper Great Lakes by Thursday morning and continue over the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes into Thursday evening. Additional areas of upper-level energy over the Pacific Northwest will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of Northern California/Great Basin and the Pacific Northwest/Northern Intermountain Region also through Thursday evening.
