A quasi-stationary front extending from the Central Plains to the Mid-Atlantic will move slightly southward along the eastern end of the boundary into parts of the Southeast while the western end moves slightly northward to parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley by Tuesday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and near the front from parts of the Central Plains/Middle Mississippi Valley eastward to Ohio Valley/Central Appalachians into parts of Southern New England by Sunday evening. The showers and thunderstorms over New England will change over to rain overnight Sunday ending by Monday evening. The showers and thunderstorms will continue over parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley into parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic through Tuesday while expanding into parts of the Southeast overnight Monday. Meanwhile, upper-level energy over Northern/Central Plains/Rockies will move eastward to the Middle Missouri Valley by Tuesday. The energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern/Central Plains into parts of the Central Rockies that will move eastward into parts of the Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley into parts of the Southern Plains by Tuesday. In addition, a front over the Pacific Northwest will slowly move eastward to the Northern High Plains southwestward into parts of the Great Basin by Tuesday.
