A front extending from the Upper Mississippi Valley southwestward to parts of the Great Basin will move eastward into the Northeast southwestward to the Ohio Valley and northwestward to the Northern High Plains by Tuesday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the boundary from parts of the Upper Great Lakes/Upper Mississippi Valley into parts of the Northern Plains that will move eastward into Northern New England across parts of the Ohio Valley into parts of the Northern Plains by Tuesday. Elsewhere along the western edge of the aforementioned front, showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Northern High Plains/Rockies also through Tuesday. Furthermore, upper-level energy will move onshore over the Pacific Northwest Monday afternoon into Tuesday. The energy will aid in producing light rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest Monday evening into Tuesday. Meanwhile, tropical moisture extending from the Southeast to the Southern Plains along with upper-level impulses and daytime heating will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms from parts of the Southern Plains into the Southeast through Tuesday. A diurnal spike in thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Middle Mississippi and the Southern Ohio Valleys also through Tuesday. Additionally, monsoonal moisture and daytime heating will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Central/Southern Rockies and parts of the Great Basin/Southwest through Tuesday. The areal coverage of the thunderstorms will be the greatest during the late afternoon into the late evening on Sunday and Monday.
