A quasi-stationary front extending from the Great Lakes to parts of the Central High Plains will slowly begin to dissipate on Sunday afternoon. The boundary will be the focus for showers and thunderstorms from the Great Lakes/Northeast into the Middle Mississippi Valley and the Central Plains through Monday morning. In addition, tropical moisture extending from the Southern Plains to the Southeast along with daytime heating and weak upper-level impulses will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms from the Southeast westward to parts of the Southern Plains through Sunday evening. Overnight Saturday, some of the tropical moisture will move into parts of the Ohio Valley, Central Appalachians, and Northern Mid-Atlantic. The moisture will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over the region on Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening. Meanwhile, monsoonal moisture, Daytime heating, and weak upper-level impulses will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Great Basin/Southwest and the Central/Southern Rockies through Sunday evening. The showers and thunderstorms will have the greatest areal coverage during the late afternoon into the late evening on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally a front moving out of Southwestern Canada will advance eastward to the Upper Great Lakes/Middle Mississippi Valley and southward to the Central Plains into the Central Rockies by Sunday evening. The boundary intersects moisture over the Northern Plains overnight Saturday producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern Plains into the Northern High Plains that will move eastward to the Upper Great Lakes/Upper Mississippi Valley into parts of the Northern/Central High Plains by Sunday evening.
