Florence has strengthened into a major category four Hurricane. The cyclone is forecast to move northwesterly towards the Southeast/Southern Mid-Atlantic Coast by Friday morning. The northern end of a quasi-stationary front extending from parts of the Northeast across the Mid-Atlantic into the Southeast/Western Gulf Coast will move off the Northeast Coast by Wednesday morning. Rain over parts of Northern New England will move into Southeastern Canada by Wednesday morning. The rest of the boundary will remain stationary from the Mid-Atlantic to the Western Gulf Coast through Wednesday evening into Thursday. Showers and thunderstorm will develop along and near the front from parts of the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast into the Central/Western Gulf Coast through Wednesday evening into Thursday. In addition, tropical moisture over Florida will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over the area through Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, a front extending from parts of the Northern Plains into parts of the Northern Rockies/Intermountain Region will move eastward into the Upper Mississippi Valley/Northern Plains southward into the Northern/Central Rockies and the Great Basin by Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Northern Plains that will expand into parts of the Central High Plains while moving into parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley overnight Tuesday. The showers and thunderstorms will continue over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley into the Northern Plains through Wednesday evening. Additionally, onshore flow over the Pacific Northwest will aid in producing rain and daytime thunderstorms over the region through Wednesday evening.
