A deep upper-level low over the Upper Great Lakes will slowly move northeastward to Southeastern Canada by Friday. Upper-level energy associated with the upper-level low and cold air flowing over the Great Lakes will aid in developing lake effect snow, heavy at times, downwind from the Great Lakes through Friday. A front moving off the Northeast Coast will aid in producing snow over parts of New England ending Wednesday afternoon. A second front over the Central Appalachians southwestward to the Lower Mississippi Valley/Southern Plains will, likewise, move off the East Coast by Wednesday evening. The boundary will aid in producing snow over parts of the Lower Great Lakes/Central Appalachians into parts of the Ohio Valley that will move eastward into parts of the Northeast/Northern Mid-Atlantic by Wednesday evening, moving off the coast overnight Wednesday. Meanwhile, weak upper-level energy over the Southern Rockies will move eastward along the Gulf Coast through Thursday evening. Moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will flow northward over the Southern Plains and into parts of the Ohio Valley by Friday. The energy and moisture will aid in producing rain over parts of the Western Gulf Coast Wednesday evening through Friday morning. In addition, an area of upper-level energy, over the Northern Plains, will rotating around the deep upper-level low across the Ohio Valley into the Mid-Atlantic by Thursday evening. The upper-level energy will aid in producing light snow over parts of the Northern Plains on Thursday morning moving southeastward into the Ohio Valley by Friday morning. Elsewhere, upper-level energy will move onshore over California on Thursday afternoon moving into parts of the Southwest by Friday. The energy will aid in producing rain over parts of Central/Southern California on Thursday moving into parts of the Southwest by Friday.
