Upper-level energy over the Southern Plains will intensify while moving eastward to the Southeast by Tuesday. Moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will stream northeastward over the Lower Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley that will, likewise, move eastward into the Southeast and the Mid-Atlantic by Monday evening into Tuesday. The energy and moisture will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over Western Gulf Coast into the Lower Mississippi/Tennessee Valleys and extending into parts of the Ohio Valley that will also move eastward into the Southeast/Southern Mid-Atlantic by Tuesday. Rain will develop over parts of the Upper Midwest that will move into parts of the Northeast overnight Sunday continuing into Monday night. Snow will develop over parts of Northern New England overnight Sunday and continue over parts of Northern New England through Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, a plume of moisture will stream into the Northwest through Monday. The moisture will aid in producing rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest into Northern California into parts of the Northern Intermountain Region with snow over some of the higher elevations over the Northern Rockies through Monday. Overnight Monday, upper-level energy over the Pacific will begin to move onshore over the Pacific Northwest into Northern California by Tuesday. Rain will continue over the region through Tuesday.
