The eastern system responsible for the heavy rainfall will slowly move out to sea tonight, but a trailing trough will organize in its wake along the coast and lift into southeastern New England late Sunday/early Monday. This will maintain the threat of mainly light showers for the Northeast but gradually diminish the coverage across the central Appalachians in the wrap-around area behind the surface low. Temperatures will cool along/east of the Appalachians tomorrow after with highs still 5-15 degrees below average from the Mason-Dixon line southward. The middle of the country will be in between systems with a slowly moving cold front and eventual stationary boundary settling across the Upper Midwest with mainly light showers in its audience. Much colder temperatures will follow in its wake through Wyoming into South Dakota and Nebraska tomorrow (20-30 degrees colder than today) with several inches of snow possible through the higher terrain of WY/CO. Temperatures will struggle to reach out of the 40s for many places while east/south of the front temperatures tomorrow will push into the 70s/80s. Cold front will continue to push through Utah/Colorado tomorrow with lowering snow levels but expect mainly rain for most areas with possible thunderstorms. Tail-end of the cold front moving through California will be accompanied by little in the way of showers, but will bring in cooler temperatures to the deserts (about 10 degrees cooler on Sunday than Saturday).
