A storm over the Lower Great Lakes will move northeastward into Eastern Canada by Saturday morning. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Mid-Atlantic moving off the coast by Friday evening. Rain will also develop over parts of the Lower Great Lakes, Ohio Valley, Northern Mid-Atlantic, and the Northeast that will end overnight Friday over the Ohio Valley and the Northern Mid-Atlantic. By Saturday evening, the heavier rain will move into Canada while showers will linger over parts of the Northeast through Sunday morning. A shortwave impulse tracking across the Central Rockies will sustain a new surface low across the Central Plains by Saturday morning. The majority of the precipitation with this event is expected north of the surface low track from South Dakota to the Lower Great Lakes. Late season accumulating snow is possible on the northern edge of the precipitation with the potential for a few inches of snow. In the warm sector of this low, scattered showers and storms are likely across parts of Oklahoma and Northern Texas. Towards Saturday night and Sunday, a second storm system organizes over the Rockies and Northern High Plains in response to a closed upper-level low. This will likely result in heavy mountain snow across Western Montana and gusty winds for the Intermountain West behind the cold front. Snow will also develop over the Northern High Plains with rain developing over parts of the Northern Plains on Sunday. Ziegenfelder Graphics available at www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/basicwx/basicwx_ndfd.php
