An upper-level low over upstate New York will propagate northeastward into New Brunswick and the Gulf of St. Lawrence tonight into tomorrow. Rain and snow will fall over northern New England as a result as the system moves off into Canada and eventually the Atlantic. Snow totals of up to 2 inches with locally higher amounts are likely over the most northern portions of Maine and New Hampshire through Wednesday evening. Meanwhile a frontal system will cross the Northern Rockies tomorrow, bringing up to a half inch of rain to parts of the Northern Plains and Upper Mississippi Valley/Great Lakes, as an associated boundary brings up to an inch of rain to the Middle/Lower Mississippi/Tennessee Valleys by Thursday. This system will continue traveling eastward and will link up with another frontal system centered over southern Quebec. The associated cold front will dive southeastward into the Northeast Wednesday evening. This cold front will produce up to a tenth of an inch of rain for parts of the Northeast through Thursday. Elsewhere, upper-level energy over Texas will slowly weaken while moving into the Central Gulf Coast by Wednesday. This energy will produce showers and thunderstorms over Southern Texas into the Western Gulf Coast through Wednesday evening. Additionally, a lingering front over Florida will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over the southern half of the peninsula through Thursday. Another upper level low will approach the northern California coast on Thursday. This system is expected to produce lower elevation rain and up to a foot of snow over the Sierra with locally higher amounts through Thursday.
