The southern edge of the Westerlies extends from the Pacific Northwest to the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast through Wednesday. Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will stream northward over Lower/Middle Mississippi Valley and the Tennessee Valley pooling a long the southern edge of the Westerlies over the Ohio Valley into the Mid-Atlantic. Upper-level energy over the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley will slowly move eastward to the Eastern Seaboard by Wednesday. The moisture, energy, and the southern edge of the Westerlies will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley and Southern Plains into parts of the Ohio/Tennessee Valleys into the Mid-Atlantic through Wednesday. The western edge of the showers and thunderstorms slowly moves eastward from the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley, on Tuesday morning, into parts of the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast and Eastern Gulf Coast by Wednesday morning. Another area of upper-level energy over the Eastern Great Basin will move eastward to the Central High Plains overnight Monday that will interact with upper-level energy over the Upper Midwest and slowly consolidate with additional upper-level energy over the Northern Rockies extending from the Middle Mississippi Valley to the Central High Plains by Wednesday. The area of upper-level energy over the Upper Midwest will move eastward into Eastern Ontario by Tuesday evening followed by several weaker impulses into Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Central/Southern Rockies and extend northeastward into the Upper Midwest that will expand into parts of the Southern High Plains and the Upper Great Lakes by Monday evening moving into the Southern Plains while extending into the Upper Great Lakes by Tuesday morning. By Wednesday morning the area of showers and thunderstorms will extend from the Great Lakes roughly southward to the Southern Plains. Meanwhile, moisture and daytime heating will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern Rockies into the Great Basin on Monday expanding into parts of the Sierra Nevada by Monday evening. Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, the showers and thunderstorms will develop over the Northern/Central Rockies and Northern High Plains.
