An area of low pressure just off the Southeast coast of Florida has the potential to strengthen into a tropical depression this weekend. The track of this low will bring the potential for locally heavy rains across southern and central Florida and the Bahamas. See the latest NHC discussions for additional information on this area of low pressure A surface frontal boundary stretching from the Southern Mid-Atlantic into the Tennessee Valley, Lower Mississippi Valley and across portions of the Southern to Central Plains will be the focus for heavy rains and isolated flash flooding tonight into the weekend. Moisture values along and to the south of this front will remain above average through this weekend, fueling the potential for the heavy rains and isolated flash flooding. This front will also remain a dividing line between above average high temperatures the next two days to its south and west from the Southeast, Southern Plains into areas to the west of the Rockies and below average highs to the north and east of the front from the Northern to Central Plains, Ohio Valley, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. In addition to the above average temperatures forecast across the Great Basin, dry conditions will also support an elevated risk of fire weather across this area.
