Hurricane Dorian is expected to continue its track north along the Southeast coast, moving from the northern Florida coast late Wednesday to the North Carolina Outer Banks by early Friday. Dorian will remain a dangerous storm, with life-threatening storm surge expected along portions of the Florida east coast and the coasts of Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. Flash flooding will become increasing likely across coastal Georgia into the eastern Carolinas into Friday. The Weather Prediction Center is indicating a high risk for flash flooding over coastal sections of the Carolinas, where significant life-threatening flash flooding is expected Thursday into early Friday. Refer to the National Hurricane Center for the latest information regarding Dorian. Tropical Storm Fernand is currently moving inland over northeastern Mexico. This system is expected to generate very heavy rainfall, which could produce flooding and mudslides, especially over the mountainous areas of northeastern Mexico. While the heaviest rains are expected to fall across northeastern Mexico, locally heavy amounts are possible across portions of South Texas and the lower Texas coast, raising localized flash floods across the region. Refer to the National Hurricane Center for the latest information regarding Fernand. Showers and thunderstorms producing scattered damaging winds and perhaps a tornado are possible into Wednesday evening over the Northeast and northern Mid-Atlantic states as a strong cold front pushes through the region. Above to well-above normal temperatures are forecast to continue across much for the western U.S. and the Plains into Friday. A system moving inland from the Pacific is expected to draw monsoonal moisture northward, bringing a better change for showers and storms further north into the Pacific Northwest, northern Great Basin and Rockies on Thursday and Friday.
