Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 354 PM EDT Fri Sep 13 2019 Valid 00Z Sat Sep 14 2019 - 00Z Mon Sep 16 2019 ...Potential Tropical Cyclone NINE near the Bahamas is forecast to move near the Florida coast by Sunday bringing heavy rain that may produce scattered flash flooding... ...There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms over parts of the Southeastern Michigan and Northwestern Ohio... Potential Tropical Cyclone NINE near the Bahamas is forecast to move northwestward to near the Florida east coast by Sunday and become a Tropical Storm by Saturday. This storm could produce heavy rain over parts of the eastern Florida coast that may also produce scattered flash flooding. The National Hurricane Center has additional information pertaining to this storm system. A front extending from the Great Lakes southwestward to the Lower Mississippi Valley and westward into the Southern Plains move eastward to the Northeast Coast by Sunday morning. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the boundary over Southeastern Michigan and Northwestern Ohio that will move eastward to the mid-Atlantic Coast overnight Saturday. Some of the thunderstorms over Southeastern Michigan and Northwestern Ohio will become severe producing frequent lightening and damaging winds with a chance for tornadoes and hail. A second front over the Northern High Plains will move eastward to the Great Lakes by Sunday evening. The system will produce rain with embedded thunderstorms over parts of the Northern Rockies/Northern High Plains on Friday evening and slowly diminish on Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms will redevelop over parts of the Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley overnight Saturday moving into the Great Lakes by Sunday evening. A third front will come onshore over the Pacific Northwest on Sunday producing rain over the region into Sunday evening.
