Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 250 PM EDT Sat Oct 05 2019 Valid 00Z Sun Oct 06 2019 - 00Z Tue Oct 08 2019 ...Cold front sweeps across Midwest and eastern half of U.S.... An upper level trough and associated cold front will continue propagating eastward across the central and eastern U.S. and Southern Plains through the weekend. This frontal system will produce rainfall across much of the eastern U.S. with 1-2 inches of rain possible for parts of the Northeast and Ohio/Tennessee Valleys. Heavier amounts and a chance for embedded thunderstorms possible within this area. High pressure will build over the Midwest and Southern Plains behind the cold front on Monday ushering in cooler temperatures for that part of the country. In the West, high pressure will persist through the beginning of the work week ahead of a new frontal system that will impact the Pacific Northwest by Monday evening.
