The cold front currently crossing the Midwest and Lower Mississippi Valley will produce rainfall for much of the Northeast and Ohio/Tennessee Valleys through Tuesday with totals of 1-3 inches possible. There's a Slight Risk of Excessive Rainfall for parts of western Tennessee and northern Mississippi this evening as rainfall totals are expected to be between 2-3 inches with locally higher amounts and flash flooding possible. An upper level trough will descend over the Pacific Northwest region as the low pressure system in the east moves out to sea on Tuesday. The associated low pressure system in the west will carry with it the chance for snowfall to the Cascades and Northern Rockies, as well as rainfall to lower elevations. Cooler than normal temperatures are likely to follow this system with values up to 25 degrees below normal possible over northwestern Montana on Tuesday.
