Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 137 PM EDT Sat Nov 2 2019 Valid 00Z Sun Nov 3 2019 - 00Z Tue Nov 5 2019 ...Relatively uneventful weather pattern across the nation... A much more tranquil weather pattern is now in place across the continental U.S. this weekend and extending into the beginning of the upcoming work week. High pressure at the surface encompasses much of the central and western U.S. with mostly sunny skies and below average temperatures. This is forecast to continue through the weekend with little in the way of changes. The fire weather threat across California is also forecast to improve over the next couple of days as winds gradually subside and humidity levels improve. Broad cyclonic flow aloft over the north-central U.S. will aid in some lake effect rain and snow showers downwind of the Great Lakes as cold air rushes across the relatively warm waters. A few inches of snow accumulation will be possible across the elevated terrain of northern Michigan and also upstate New York. Snow showers are also likely for the northern Rockies as an Alberta clipper tracks southward across the northern Plains. Hamrick Graphics available at www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/basicwx/basicwx_ndfd.php
