The system will produce heavy rain over parts of Northern California and heavy snow at the highest elevations also through Sunday morning. The heavy rain and local burn scares will aid in producing scattered flash flooding that will be mainly localized on Saturday into Sunday morning. The rain and snow will wind down on Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening. Meanwhile, upper-level energy and a front in Southwestern Canada will move southward into the Pacific Northwest by Sunday morning.
