An area of developing low pressure over Central Plains will move northeastward to the Upper Great Lakes by Tuesday morning then continue moving northeasterly into Southeastern Canada on Tuesday evening into Wednesday. The storm will produce light snow over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley and light rain over parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley on Monday morning. By Monday evening the snow will move into the Upper Great Lakes, that may be heavy at times, then by Tuesday morning the snow will be over parts of the Lower Great Lakes and the Northeast that will wane by Wednesday morning. There could be a few areas of mixed precipitation over parts of the Northeast overnight Tuesday. Along the associated front, rain will fill in from parts of the Western Ohio Valley/Middle Mississippi Valley southward to the Lower Mississippi Valley/Central Gulf Coast by Monday evening. The rain will move into parts of the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley southward to the Southeast moving to the East Coast by Tuesday evening. Rain will continue over the Western/Central Gulf Coast into the Southeast through Wednesday. The light rain will fall on areas where river flooding is occurring. Meanwhile, rain and higher elevation snow over the Pacific Northwest eastward over the Northern/Central Rockies will slowly come to an end mainly By Tuesday as the onshore flow ends and the upper-level energy moves eastward. Temperatures will be milder than normal for the southern and southeastern U.S. before colder air arrives behind a strong cold front on Tuesday.
