A front over the Upper Midwest will slowly move eastward to the Northeast to the Ohio Valley westward into the Northern High Plains by Wednesday. Moisture will pool along the boundary aiding in development of showers and thunderstorms. The SPC has issued a slight risk of severe thunderstorms over the Central Plains/Middle Mississippi Valley and Western Ohio Valley. The main hazards will be dangerous lightening, severe thunderstorm wind gust, and hail on Monday into Tuesday morning. Similarly, the WPC has issued a slight risk of excessive rainfall over parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley and the Western Ohio Valley. The pooling moisture will aid in producing heavy rain with the associated thunderstorms. The heavy rain will produce mainly scattered localized flash flooding over the area through Tuesday morning. In addition, tropical moisture over the Southeast to Central Gulf Coast and upper-level energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over the area on Monday and Tuesday late afternoon into the late evening. Additionally, moisture will surge northward over the Central/Northern Plains on Tuesday aiding in producing showers and thunderstorms over the region on Tuesday into Wednesday. Another hot afternoon for much of the eastern and southern U.S. today, including parts of the central U.S. where some heat advisories are in effect. Tomorrow, the cold front passing through the Northern Plains ushers in cooler temperatures to the region while conditions become only get hotter across the Great Lakes and Northeast. By Tuesday, the most anomalously hot conditions set up across the Northeast and Southwest. Hazy, hot, and humid conditions persist in the Southeast.
