A slow moving front across the Upper Great Lakes will produce showers and thunderstorms over the region from Friday evening into Sunday. The SPC has issued a slight risk of severe thunderstorms over the Upper Great Lakes. The main hazards will be frequent lighting, severe thunderstorm wind gust, large hail, with a 10 % probability of hail larger than two inches, and tornadoes over the Upper Great Lakes through Saturday morning. Moisture and the low pressure that once was Tropical Cyclone Beta continues to move across the Southeast generating widespread showers and some thunderstorms. The WPC has issued a slight risk of excessive rainfall over parts of the Carolinas through Saturday morning. The heavy rain associated with the showers and thunderstorms will produce mainly localized scattered areas of flash flooding over the area through Saturday morning. Beta is forecast to weaken gradually through Sunday evening, scattered showers associated with Beta's remnant moisture are possible in the Mid-Atlantic on Saturday. Temperatures throughout the Southeast should also moderate to seasonally mild levels on Saturday. Elsewhere, temperatures will be 10 to 20 degrees above average over the Central/Southern High Plains. A strong cold front sweeping across the Northwest ushers in colder temperatures over the Northern/Central High Plains. Pacific moisture will also accompany this cold front leading to periods of rain in the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies through Sunday morning.
