Tropical Storm Gamma is forecast to stay away from the U.S., while some of its tropical moisture will spread into the Florida Peninsula, focused in the vicinity of frontal zones. Additional heavy rainfall is possible over portions of Florida through Monday. The WPC has issued a Slight Risk of excessive rainfall over the eastern coast of the Florida Peninsula through Monday morning. The heavy rain will produce mainly localized areas of scattered flash flooding over urban regions, roads, and small streams. In addition, isolated significant flash flooding is possible over areas that have a Slight Risk. The deep moisture will remain over Florida through Tuesday. The moisture will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over the state through Tuesday. Overnight Monday some of the deep moisture will move into the Central Gulf Coast producing showers and thunderstorms over the region on Tuesday. In addition, overnight Sunday rain will develop along the New England Coast. Meanwhile, a front over the Lower Great Lakes and extending southwestward to the Western Gulf Coast will weaken and dissipate overnight Sunday. The system will produce light rain over parts of the Great Lakes into the Ohio Valley that will move into parts of the Northeast on Monday and into Northern New England by Monday evening. An upper-level high and associated upper-level ridge will aid in keep temperatures 10 to 20 above average over the western third of the Country through Tuesday. A front moving across portions of the West should lead to an increase in wind as well. This combination of factors increase area fire danger, and the ridging aloft is expected to act as a cap on pollutants and smoke from area wildfires into Tuesday, decreasing air quality as well. Red Flag Warnings over the Northern/Central High Plains through Monday evening. Furthermore, cold high pressure will be over the Midwest overnight Sunday into Monday morning. With the clear sky and cold temperatures Frost Advisory are posted over parts of the Great Lakes, and Middle Mississippi/Western Ohio Valleys through Monday morning.
