A front extending from the Northeast southward to the Central Gulf Coast will move eastward off the East Coast and the Gulf Coast by Saturday. The boundary will produce rain over parts of the Northeast southward to the Southern Mid-Atlantic on Friday and the rain will end over Northern New England by Saturday evening. Upper-level energy moving over the Upper Great Lakes/Upper Mississippi Valley will aid in producing wet snow and rain over the region on Friday. High pressure over the Central/Southern Plains will move eastward to the Mid-Atlantic by Saturday evening. Meanwhile, upper-level ridging over the Eastern Pacific will aid in producing temperatures that will be 10 to 20 degrees above average across the Southwest and California with a continued fire weather threat. Red Flag Warnings are posted over much of California through Friday morning. Elsewhere, areas of elevated fire weather concerns are scatted across Southern California, Southern High Plains, and parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley on Saturday into Sunday. In addition, low pressure over Western Canada move southeastward to the Northern Plains by Saturday morning then head northeastward to just north of Lake Superior by Sunday morning. Overnight Friday, the system will produce rain and snow over parts of the Northern High Plains into parts of the Northern Plains. The snow will extend from the Northern High Plains to the Northern Plains by Saturday morning while rain and snow move into the Upper Mississippi Valley. The rain and snow will move into the Upper Great Lakes by Saturday evening. The snow will continue over the Northern High Plains/Northern Rockies overnight Saturday into Sunday.
