A front over parts of the Pacific Northwest into the Northern Rockies will move eastward to the Great Lakes/East Coast to Western/Central Gulf Coast by Sunday. The system will produce coastal rain and higher elevation snow over the Pacific Northwest, with snow over the Northern Intermountain Region. The snow will move into parts of the northern and central Rockies overnight Friday, then continue into Saturday before diminishing during the afternoon. Later Saturday, additional upper-level energy will move into the Pacific Northwest as the coastal rain and higher elevation snow picks up again. On Sunday, another front will move into the Pacific Northwest that will continue the coastal rain and higher elevation snow. Likewise, the snow will continue over the Northern Intermountain Region and Northern/Central Rockies through Sunday evening. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in place. In lower elevations of the Pacific Northwest, moderate to locally-heavy rain could cause isolated flooding issues. The snow will cause hazardous driving conditions through Sunday. In addition, High Wind Warnings are out for parts of the Northwest into parts of the Southern High Plains/Southern Rockies. The wind and above-normal temperatures will contribute to an Elevated to Critical Risk for fire weather over the area. Meanwhile, as the front moves through the Great Lakes/Northeast, rain will develop along the boundary and will change to snow over the Upper Mississippi Valley and Upper Great Lakes Saturday night into Sunday.
