A deep area of low pressure over parts of the Ohio Valley/Mid-Atlantic will move northward into Eastern Canada on Sunday. The system will produce rain, heavy at times, over parts of the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley/Mid-Atlantic southward to the Central Gulf Coast/Southeast that will move into the Northeast overnight. Accordingly, the WPC has issued a Slight Risk of excessive rainfall over parts of the northern Mid-Atlantic through Saturday morning. The associated heavy rain will create mainly localized areas of flash flooding, with urban areas, roads, and small streams the most. On Saturday, the threat of excessive rainfall moves northward to parts of New England, with the WPC issuing a Slight Risk on Saturday into Sunday morning. On Sunday, the system produces rain over parts of the Northeast, the Lower Great Lakes, and the Central Appalachians. Meanwhile, a cold front extending from the Northern High Plains to Northern California will move to the Upper Great Lakes to the Southern Plains and westward to the Central Rockies by Sunday. The system will produce mainly light rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest portions of Northern California into the Northern Rockies. Overnight, light snow will develop over parts of the Northern Rockies, ending by Saturday evening. Light rain will continue over parts of the Pacific Northwest/Northern California through Sunday. Furthermore, as the cold front moves into the Great Lakes, light rain will develop over the region on Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening. Elsewhere, dry conditions and breezy northwesterly surface winds will develop over parts of the Southern Plains, producing an area favorable for fire weather through Saturday morning; hence regions of Elevated Risk of fire weather exists over parts of the Southern Plains through Saturday morning.
