Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 336 AM EDT Fri Nov 05 2021 Valid 12Z Fri Nov 05 2021 - 12Z Sun Nov 07 2021 ...There is a Slight Risk of excessive rainfall over parts of northeastern Florida through Saturday morning... ...Rain and higher elevation snow over parts of the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies... ...Freeze Warnings and Frost Advisories from parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley eastward to the Mid-Atlantic... Low pressure over the eastern Gulf of Mexico will move northeastward to off the Carolina Coast by Sunday. The system will pull moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic, streaming into northern Florida through Saturday afternoon. The moisture will produce heavy rain over parts of Florida. Accordingly, the WPC has issued a Slight Risk of excessive rainfall over parts of northeastern Florida through Saturday morning. The associated heavy rain will create mainly localized areas of flash flooding, with urban areas, roads, and small streams the most at risk. On Saturday, the threat of excessive rainfall lessens to a Marginal Risk over parts of the North Carolina Coast as the rain moves northward into the Southern Mid-Atlantic through Sunday. Meanwhile, a front will move into the Pacific Northwest and toward the Upper Midwest by Sunday with a wave developing along the boundary over the Northern Rockies. The system will produce rain and higher elevation snow over the Pacific Northwest/Northern California into the Northern Rockies starting in earnest tonight into Sunday morning. Moreover, high pressure extends from the Northeast to the Southern Plains. The clear skies and calm winds associated with the high will allow temperatures to cool down to the lower 30s to upper 20s this morning. Therefore, Freeze Warnings and Frost Advisories are posted from parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley eastward to the Mid-Atlantic for this morning.
