Upper-level energy over the Southern Plains will move northeastward to the Great lakes and Northern New England by Wednesday, inducing a front along the Central Gulf Coast into the Southeast. The energy will produce snow and rain over parts of the Central/Southern Plains and parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley that will move into parts of the Ohio Valley on Tuesday. The snow has prompted Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories across parts of the Central/Southern Plains into the Middle Mississippi Valley through Monday night. Moreover, moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will stream northward over the Southern Plains on Monday afternoon producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southern Plains and the Central Gulf Coast, moving into the Eastern Gulf Coast by Tuesday. On Tuesday, rain will develop over parts of the Ohio Valley, expanding into parts of the Mid-Atlantic by Tuesday evening. In addition, showers and thunderstorms will begin to develop over parts of the Southeast on Tuesday. On Tuesday afternoon, areas of rain/freezing rain will develop over parts of the Central Appalachians and move into parts of the Northeast early Wednesday. Also, early Wednesday, an area of low pressure will develop just offshore of the Mid-Atlantic and move into the Gulf of Maine by Wednesday evening. Additionally, overnight Tuesday, snow will develop over parts of the Northeast, moving into Northern New England on Wednesday as the snow becomes heavy. The combination of snow and ice will cause hazardous road conditions from Tuesday evening into Wednesday. Meanwhile, an upper-level low over the Upper Midwest will produce light snow over parts of the Northern/Central Rockies eastward into the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes on Monday evening. Overnight Monday, snow will move into the Western Ohio Valley and into the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley on Tuesday and continue into Wednesday.
