Cold high pressure over the Mid-Atlantic and northern New York State will move eastward off the East Coast by early Sunday. The associated cold air will produce temperatures 10 to 30 degrees below average over parts of the Northeast into the coastal Mid-Atlantic through Sunday. Therefore, Wind Chill Warnings and Wind Chill Advisories are across New York State and New England. Temperatures will begin to moderate on Sunday. Meanwhile, upper-level energy over the Great Lakes will aid in producing lake-effect snow downwind from the Upper Great Lakes through late Saturday. Elsewhere, a wave of low pressure over a front over southeastern Florida will move southward, off the peninsula, by Saturday afternoon. The low will produce light rain over parts of southern Florida through Saturday. Easterly flow off the Atlantic will aid in creating light rain along the east coast of Florida through Sunday. A wave of low pressure develops along the front over parts of northeastern Florida on Sunday and then moves northeastward off the Southeast Coast out over the Atlantic Ocean by Monday. Moreover, a front over the Eastern Pacific will move onshore over the West Coast overnight Saturday and southeastward to the Central Plains by Monday. On Saturday, the system will produce coastal rain and higher-elevation snow over the Pacific Northwest. In addition, rain and higher-elevation snow will move into parts of California overnight Saturday. On Sunday, snow expands into the Great Basin as heavy snow falls over the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Coastal rain and higher-elevation snow will continue over most of the West Coast on Sunday evening. The snow will also expand into the Northern/Central Rockies. The rain and higher-elevation snow will taper off over California by Monday. In the meantime, a front over South-Central Canada will move into the Upper Midwest overnight Saturday. The front will move across the Great Lakes and into the Northeast by Monday. The boundary will produce light snow over parts of the Upper Great Lakes on Sunday afternoon. Overnight Sunday, the snow will move into the Lower Great Lakes and Northern New England. The snow will result in reduced visibility and hazardous driving conditions.
