Temperatures will rebound to above normal values across most of the country for the start of the week. Rain and snow showers are possible for much of the Northeast on today. Snow will spread across portions of the Pacific Northwest, Intermountain West, Northern Rockies and into western fringe of the High Plains over the next few days. Favored upslope areas could have locally heavy snow accumulations, which may reach 2 feet prior to Tuesday. Lower elevations across Idaho and western Montana may also experience lighter snowfall amounts. Snow is also forecast to move across the eastern Dakotas and the Upper Mississippi Valley Monday evening through Tuesday. This part of the country may pick up a few inches of snow before midweek. Light showers can be expected for portions of the South, Southeast, Tennessee Valley and into the Mid-Atlantic ahead of approaching fronts while there will be shower chances for Arizona and New Mexico ahead of a churning upper-level low.
