A front over the Pacific Northwest into Central California will move eastward to the Ohio Valley by Monday evening. Upper-level energy associated with the front will produce heavy snow over the Sierra Nevada Mountains from Saturday evening into Sunday evening. In addition, the system will create coastal rain and higher-elevation snow over the Pacific Northwest into Central/Southern California through late Sunday evening. Overnight Saturday, the snow moves into the Northern Intermountain. On Sunday, the storm moves out of the Rockies onto the Plains producing heavy snow over the Northern Plains. By Sunday evening, the storm moves into the Middle Mississippi Valley and the Ohio Valley by Monday evening. The heavy snow moves into the Upper Mississippi Valley and the Upper Great Lakes on Sunday evening into Monday evening. The system will also produce rain over parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley and the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley. Additionally, as the storm moves out of the Rockies onto the Plains, strong wind, low humidity, and dry fuels will contribute to an area of Elevated and Critical Risk of fire weather over the Southern High Plains from Sunday into Monday.
