Tropical Storm Idalia is forecast to bring heavy rainfall, strong winds, significant storm surge, and thunderstorms to parts of the Florida Gulf Coast beginning Tuesday night. Portions of the west coast of Florida, the Florida Panhandle, Southeast Georgia and the eastern Carolinas could receive 4-8 inches of rainfall by Thursday. Isolated higher totals of 12 inches are possible, primarily near landfall in northern Florida. A Moderate Risk of Excessive Rainfall leading to Flash Flooding is in effect for this part of northern Florida on Tuesday.
