On Thursday evening, a front extending from the Great Lakes to the Western/Central Gulf Coast will advance off the Eastern Seaboard by Saturday. The system will produce rain over parts of the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley by Thursday evening, which will develop southward over the Tennessee Valley into the Central Gulf Coast overnight Thursday. In addition, on Thursday evening, moisture from the Atlantic will stream into the Mid-Atlantic, creating rain over the region overnight Thursday into Friday. As the front moves eastward on Friday, rain moves into parts of the Northeast and extends southward into the Southeast by Friday evening. Overnight Friday, the rain will become more scattered from the Lower Great Lakes/Ohio Valley to the Mid-Atlantic into Saturday. Furthermore, on Friday, a second front over the Northern High Plains will move southeastward to the southern Mid-Atlantic/Southern Appalachians to the Southern Plains by Saturday evening. The system will keep light rain over parts of the Upper Midwest Friday evening into Saturday. Meanwhile, upper-level ridging over the Southwest creeps eastward into the Plains by Saturday. The upper-level ridging will allow temperatures to be 15 to 25 degrees above average over the Northern Intermountain Region/Southwest into the Plains. Additionally, weak onshore flow over the Northwest will aid in creating very scattered rain over parts of the region from Thursday afternoon into Friday.
