A front extending from the Lower Great Lakes to the Mid-Atlantic and then southwestward to the Gulf Coast on Friday will advance off the Eastern Seaboard by Saturday. The system will produce rain over parts of the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley into the Northeast and southward to the Carolinas. The rain will continue over the Northeast into parts of the Central Appalachians on Saturday. Furthermore, on Friday, a second front over the Upper Mississippi Valley/Northern Plains will move southeastward off the Southeast Coast by Sunday. The system will keep light rain over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes Friday evening into Saturday. As the front moves southeastward, rain moves into the Lower Great Lakes/Ohio Valley overnight Saturday. In addition, the rain showers continue over parts of the Northeast. On Sunday, the rain showers continue over the Northeast, with wet snow at the higher elevations of New York State. Meanwhile, upper-level troughing and a weak boundary over the West will aid in creating light rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest and Northern/Central California overnight Saturday into Sunday. Further, upper-level ridging extending from the Rio Grande Valley to the Northern Intermountain Region will slowly creep eastward into the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley by Sunday. The upper-level ridging will allow temperatures to be 15 to 25 degrees above average over the Northern Intermountain Region/Southwest into the Plains and Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley.
