...Modest atmospheric river activity to bring multiple rounds of
beneficial precipitation across the Pacific Northwest and the Northern
Rockies over the next couple of days...

...Mixed light rain and snow may brush the northern borders of the
Northern Plains to the interior Northeast through Monday...

...Fair and mild weather expected to continue from the southwestern U.S.
to much of the eastern U.S; cool Pacific air arrives over the West this
week....

Persistent troughing will continue to generate unsettled weather over
parts of the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies through Monday. The
current flux of moisture centered over Northern California will relent
this morning and refocus over the same area late tonight. A Marginal Risk
of Flash Flooding is in effect for this area due, in part, to the ongoing
and recent rain. All the while, the associated moisture is expected to
spread into the Northern Rockies and produce light to moderate rain
showers at low elevations and snow over elevated terrain. Another round of
light rain/snow will arrive over the Pac NW and Northern Rockies Monday
night into Tuesday. This will renew flash flooding concerns across the
immediate Pac NW coast.

Shortwave energy will amplify as it moves out of the Northern Rockies and
into the Northern Plains early this week. The associated surface low
pressure system will produce some light to moderate snow and rain showers
from the Northern Plains to the interior Northeast over the next couple of
days. Some windy conditions are possible over parts of the Upper Great
Lakes/Midwest on Monday as well. Relatively zonal flow across the rest of
the CONUS will support above average temperatures over the next few days.
Anomalous troughing will move into the West this week and usher in a
cooler Pacific airmass into the region.
