Low pressure moving away from the Northeast will create scattered snow over parts of the Northeast and Central Appalachians, ending overnight Monday. Moreover, a developing front over the Upper Midwest will move southeastward to the Southeast/Central Gulf Coast by Wednesday. The system will produce light snow over parts of the Great Lakes through Tuesday evening. In addition, there will be areas of light rain over parts of the Ohio Valley. On Tuesday, light snow will develop over the higher elevations of the Central Appalachians and light rain at lower elevations. Furthermore, light rain will develop over parts of the Southern Appalachians and Mid-Atlantic on Tuesday into Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, on Monday, upper-level ridging over the Rockies will move eastward to the Plains by Wednesday. The ridging will aid in producing temperatures 10 to 20 degrees above average over parts of the Northern/Central Plains into the Upper Midwest. Furthermore, moisture returns to the Northwest overnight Monday, producing light rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest into Wednesday morning.
