Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 218 PM EST Sun Nov 02 2025 Valid 00Z Mon Nov 03 2025 - 00Z Wed Nov 05 2025 ...Quiet weather to persist across the much of the U.S. through Tuesday... ...Unsettled weather returns to the northwestern U.S. tomorrow, with an increasing threat for heavy rain and strong winds along the northern California coast late Tuesday... The quiet start to the week will persist, with dry conditions expected to continue across much of the U.S. through the evening. However, there are two notable exceptions. A cold front moving through the Great Lakes will bring light precipitation to the region, while an organizing low-pressure system along the Southeast Coast will spread showers and thunderstorms across the area. The quiet weather will be short-lived across the northwestern U.S., as precipitation begins to spread into the Northwest and northern Rockies tomorrow ahead of an approaching low-pressure system. Unsettled conditions will persist through Tuesday, with rain extending southward into northern California. A second system will then heighten the threat of heavy rain and strong winds along the North Coast late Tuesday. Elsewhere, light precipitation will shift from the Great Lakes into the Northeast tomorrow. Otherwise, dry conditions will continue across much of the country through Tuesday. After a chilly start, temperatures in the mid and lower Mississippi Valley, as well as the Southeast, will gradually warm over the next couple of days. Elsewhere, temperatures will remain above to well above average across much of the U.S. Pereira Graphics available at https://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/basicwx/basicwx_ndfd.php
