A closed low centered over the Southwest is forecast to gradually weaken and lift out to the northeast into the central Rockies this period. This is expected to produce some additional high elevation snow showers Wednesday night into Thursday from southern Utah northward into the Wasatch and Uintas, as well as further east into southern Colorado and northern New Mexico -- namely the San Juan and Sangre de Cristo mountains. While widespread heavy accumulations are not expected, locally heavy totals are possible across some of the higher peaks. As the low continues to weaken and track further east, precipitation is expected to diminish across the region by early Friday.
