A shortwave trough to the southwest of the departing cyclone entering Canada will shear through Colorado tonight/early Monday. Enough moisture will be present to wring out several inches of snow over the higher terrain of central CO down through the CO side of the Sangre de Cristos. Day 1 probabilities for over 6" are moderate over central CO with low probabilities farther southeast over the Sangre de Christos with snow levels across the state around 7000ft. ...Pacific Northwest... Days 2-3... Upper low just south of the Gulf of Alaska will weaken as it reaches Vancouver Island Tuesday. A leading cold front and a weak surge of moisture into Washington and Oregon Monday will bring light snow to higher elevations above 6000ft, but more appreciable height falls move through on Tuesday into Wednesday when snow levels drop to below 4000ft. WPC probabilities for at least 4 inches are moderate (>40%) to high (>70%) over the Blue Mountains and low (>10%) over the Clearwater Mountains of ID on Day 2, and low to moderate over the northern WA Cascades on Day 3. For days 1-3, the probability of significant icing greater than 0.25 inches is less than 10 percent. Fracasso
