A trough crossing the Great Lakes/Midwest Monday will promote
surface cyclogenesis off the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic Monday
night with pronounced warm air advection ahead spreading
precipitation into New England starting Monday night with the low
itself bringing precip Tuesday. The most likely scenario brings at
least moderate snow inland, with a rain/snow mix likely along the
coast. Day 2.5 WPC probabilities for over 6 inches are 20 to 40%
over interior central Maine with potential for the snow to spread
east across Down East Maine from more western tracking guidance
such as the 00Z ECMWF.


The probability of significant icing is less than 10 percent.
