Detailed Summary: Upper-level energy over Southern California will move eastward to the Southern Plains by Monday. The associated front over the Southwest will, likewise, move eastward to the Southern Plains by Monday, too. Moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will move northward over the Plains overnight Thursday into Friday with a strong plume of moisture moving over the Western Gulf Coast into the Lower Mississippi Valley overnight Saturday into Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop a long and a head of the front over the Lower Mississippi Valley into to parts of the Tennessee Valley and Southeast Sunday into Monday. The thunderstorms will aid in developing an inch or more of heavy rain over parts of the region on Sunday into Monday. Numerous locations along the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers, and their tributaries, are expected to maintain major to record flooding through at least Saturday. In Alaska, deep low pressure over the North Pacific will move northward into the Gulf of Alaska on Friday into Saturday. An associated plume of moisture will stream into coastal regions of the Gulf of Alaska and the Alaska Panhandle on Thursday into Friday night. The storm and moisture will aid to produce an area of heavy precipitation over portions of the Alaska mainland from Kodiak Island to the Kenia Peninsula on Thursday into Saturday. Another plume of moisture will move into the Alaska Panhandle overnight Saturday into Monday. The moisture will aid in producing a region of heavy precipitation on Sunday into Monday. The strong pressure gradient associated with the deep low over North Pacific/Gulf of Alaska will aid in producing high wind over parts of the Alaska Peninsula to the Kenai Peninsula on Thursday into Friday. The long fetch over the North Pacific/Gulf of Alaska of the high wind will aid in producing an area of significant waves of 20 feet or more from the Kenia Peninsula to Kodiak Island on Friday.
