US Day 3-7 Hazards Outlook NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 441 PM EDT Fri Jul 26 2019 Valid Monday July 29 2019 - Friday August 2 2019 Hazards: - Flooding possible across portions of the Upper Mississippi Valley and the Northern Plains. - Flooding occurring or imminent across portions of the Lower Mississippi Valley, the Great Lakes, and the Northern Plains. - Excessive heat across portions of California, Mon, Jul 29. Detailed Summary: The medium range period (Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 2) continues to be relatively quiet across the contiguous U.S. and Alaska. The heatwave that will be ongoing across the Central Valley of California and the lower elevations of the Desert Southwest will be waning by the beginning of this forecast period. A small area is delineated for the southern portion of the Central Valley on Monday, and this is a marginal event. Temperatures are expected to be just below excessive heat criteria for southern Arizona and southeast California on Monday, so no area appeared necessary. Across the remainder of the U.S., there will be periodic rounds of showers and storms across portions of the central and eastern U.S., but nothing appears that it will be organized and heavy enough to merit any heavy rainfall areas at this time.
