Detailed Summary: In terms of precipitation hazards across CONUS, the medium range looks fairly quiet with only a few rounds of light rain/snow traversing across the northern tier of the United States. The one exception is across much of Texas and southern Oklahoma, where there is a signal for up to an inch of rain on Wednesday and Thursday. However, a hazard area was not added due to much of these areas experiencing moderate to extreme drought. By Tuesday (Nov. 5), the next arctic air mass drops into the north-central U.S. and is forecast to move across the Midwest and Great Lakes Thursday and Friday. Temperature anomalies are expected to be around 10 to 20 degrees below average, with widespread low temperatures in the teens across the Midwest by the end of the week. The cold will linger and shift as far south as the Southern Plains/Tennessee Valley and east into the Mid-Atlantic by Friday (Nov. 8). The Climate Prediction Center highlights this on the 8-14 hazards chart as well. A few rounds of rain and snow are possible across southern Alaska during the medium range period, but no hazards are currently expected. Snell
