Detailed Summary: The medium range period (Friday Nov. 29 through Tuesday Dec. 3) will feature multiple weather hazards across the country. The most impactful system of the period is forecast to be found across the central Rockies on Friday, before exiting eastward across the Northern Plains and Midwest Saturday and Sunday. Precipitation will mostly fall as snow from the Mogollon Rim in Arizona northward through the northern Rockies, where a foot or more of snow is possible in the higher elevations. As the system enters the Great Plains, heavy snow is forecast to spread from eastern Montana to the Upper Great Lakes. High winds will also accompany the low pressure system across the High Plains, extending into the Northern and Central Plains on Saturday and Sunday. This combination of heavy snow and strong winds could lead to blizzard conditions. Given this is a very busy weekend for travel, it is important to consider alternate plans across this region. Further south, heavy rain and severe thunderstorms are possible across the Southern Plains and Deep South on Friday and Saturday ahead of the approaching cold front. The heavy rain threat extends east across the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys on Saturday, although models have trended drier with rainfall amounts there is still a decent signal for 1 inch or more of rain. By Sunday and Monday, the aforementioned system is expected to move into the Northeast and could bring heavy snow across the interior Northeast. Significant model spread still exists on timing and location of the heaviest snow, however the highest probabilities for impactful snowfall remain across portions of northeast Pennsylvania, Upstate New York, and into southern New England. High winds behind the system will be found across the Great Lakes by Sunday. Meanwhile, another round of active weather is forecast to bring rain and mountain snow to the western U.S. by Saturday. The highest amounts are currently forecast to be across northern and central California. Across Alaska, heavy precipitation is forecast along the southern coast of mainland Alaska on Friday. Another round of heavy coastal rain and inland/mountain snow is possible on Monday and Tuesday across similar areas, as well as down the Alaskan Peninsula. Snell
