Detailed Summary: The powerful low pressure system forecast to bring blizzard conditions across the north-central U.S. this weekend will bring hazardous weather into the Northeast on Monday and Tuesday, Dec 2-Dec 3. Heavy snow is currently expected from northern New Jersey/northeast Pennsylvania to eastern Maine, with the highest confidence for impactful snowfall across the Hudson Valley and western Massachusetts. Confidence decreases along the I-95 corridor from New York City to Boston, as any subtle shift could move the rain/snow line further inland or southeast to the coast. High winds will make conditions worse along Cape Cod and portions of eastern New England. Across the western U.S., multiple weather systems will make for a wet and snowy first week of December. Heavy precipitation will come to an end on Monday across northern and central California. Heavy snow will be the main hazard across the Sierra during this time frame. Another round of heavy rain and mountain snow is forecast to enter the region by the end of the week. Further south, an upper-level low is forecast to move across southern California on Wednesday. After a wet end to November, another 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible. The largest negative temperature anomalies across the lower 48 during the medium range period will be across the Southeast and Lower Mississippi Valley on Tuesday. Low temperatures could touch the freezing mark as far south as Mobile, Alabama and Tallahassee, Florida. Low temperatures in the 30s will also be found across northern Florida, with 40s and 50s across central and southern Florida. These temperatures would be around 10 to 15 degrees below average. Alaska is forecast to see one strong low pressure system exiting the area on Monday and another entering on Friday. The first will continue to bring heavy precipitation to the Alaskan Panhandle, with two inches of total liquid equivalent rain/snow possible. The second system entering the region on Friday could bring strong winds across the Aleutians before possibly bringing more widespread impacts next weekend. Snell
