The system will produce heavy snow over parts of the Lower Great Lakes/Northern Appalachians into Northern New England on Sunday into Monday. A fair amount of lake effect snow will develop over the southeastern coast of Lake Erie also on Sunday into Monday. The snow will wane over the area by Monday afternoon. Over the Pacific Northwest on Sunday, one front after another will move onshore produce heavy precipitation over the area on Sunday into Thursday. The associated plumes of moisture will have higher moisture content with an atmospheric river moving into the Northwest Coast by Thursday. In addition, the heavy rain that has been depicted over the Southern Plains/Lower Mississippi Valley on the hazards chart the last few days has a lot more uncertainty in the models depiction of the heavy rain over the area that is associated with the low pressure moving across the Gulf Coast. With the uncertainty of the exact location of the heavy rain the location was left off the chart. In Alaska, much below normal temperatures are likely through much of the period across most of the Mainland. Minimum and maximum temperature anomalies could be 20 to 30+ degrees below normal. An upper-level low will become established over the Mainland/Gulf of Alaska Coast form Sunday into Tuesday. The upper-level low will slowly weaken on Wednesday into Thursday.
