Detailed Summary: As a system moving across the Northwest continues to produce heavy precipitation, including mountain snow across the Olympics and Cascades on Saturday, moisture associated with this storm will reach the higher elevations of western Oregon, northern Idaho and western Montana and Wyoming, where more heavy mountain snow may also occur. Sunday and into early Monday are expected to be drier across the Northwest before unsettled weather returns when another system drops south from western Canada. This system is expected to bring heavy precipitation to portions of western Oregon, including heavy snow along the Cascades. By early next week, as an upper low develops and moves across the Southwest and ridging increases over the Gulf of Mexico, a frontal boundary is forecast to settle across the Lower Ohio to the Lower Mississippi valleys and eastward to the Southern Appalachians. Increasing southerly winds will spread Gulf moisture initially over the Southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley on Monday along the frontal boundary Tuesday and Wednesday -- supporting heavy rainfall across these areas. A strong area of low pressure is expected to track through the eastern Bering Sea late Friday into early Saturday, with strong winds expected from the Aleutians to the southwest coast. Heavy precipitation is expected along the central Gulf coast on Saturday before shifting farther south into the Panhandle on Sunday. Pereira
